The 'Retail-like' model allows a transit operator to install Mastercard contactless terminals in their transit system at the point of entry. The model allows a passenger to travel by paying a fixed fare known at the point of interaction (tap). As the fare is fixed, each time the passenger taps in, a different transaction occurs.

The Retail-like payment model is suitable for bus and metro systems with high share of single ticket purchases and simple fare structure.
